First
Selectman's Office
The First Selectman serves as the
town's Chief Elected Official. The term of office is two
years commencing in odd number years. The First Selectman
presides over the Board of Selectmen.
Basic responsibilities include:
- assessment of current and
future needs or priorities of the town
- supervising all administrative
offices and employees of the town
- constantly updating the Board
of Selectmen as to the status of the town's finances
About
the First Selectman
Robert J. Koskelowski, Sr., has been the First Selectman of
Seymour from 2003 to present. His background is as
follows:
- Retired Seymour Police Officer
- 1979-1982 Parks Commission, Town of Seymour
- 1983-1993 First Selectman, Town of Seymour
- 1997-1999 Board of Finance, Town of Seymour
- 1999-2003 Assistant Treasurer, Town of Seymour
- 1999-2003 Police Commissioner, Town of Seymour
Mr. Koskelowski has been a resident of Seymour most of his life.
He is married and has four children and five grandchildren.
