August 11, 2020: Connecticut’s Democratic and Republican Presidential Preference Primaries

All three polling places will be open from 6am until 8pm.

Voters are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Voters are encouraged to bring their own black or blue pens to mark their ballots.

Deadlines for new voters to register to vote and for unaffiliated voters to join a party in order to vote in the Presidential Primary are:

August 6th for mail-in and online registration
August 10th at noon for in-person registration.

The Registrar of Voters is responsible for the following:

  • conducting the annual canvass of registered voters between January and May to ensure records are accurate and complete
  • managing elections, primaries and referenda
  • locating and training poll workers
  • handling requests for voter registration and education
  • processing mail-in and in person voter registrations

The Registrars of Voters are elected in the Town of Seymour.

NOTE:  The above is for municipal, State and Federal elections.  Budget referendums are held exclusively at the Community Center.

The deadline to change parties with the ability to vote in the April 28, 2020 Presidential Preference Primary is Tuesday January 28th. This can be done online with a Connecticut Driver's License at https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.

 


Town Meeting - Budget Referendum Voter Eligibility

Persons eligible to vote at Town Meetings shall be the electors of the Town and/or owners of at least $1,000.00 in taxable property.
