The tax bills for the October 1, 2017 grand list, real estate first half, personal property first half and entire motor vehicle will be mailed June 28, 2018. Bills are due and payable on July 1, 2018 and become delinquent on August 2, 2018. Failure to receive a bill does not prevent interest charges from occurring. No reminder bills are sent for the January installment.
Online payment as well as payment history is available here with fees of $3.95 for Visa debit, 2.5% for Credit cards & $2.00 for electronic checks.
Payments can be mailed in the pre-addressed envelopes enclosed in your bill to our lockbox, which is located in Hartford, where payments are processed directly through Webster Bank.
In-person payments (please bring ENTIRE BILL) can be made Monday – Thursday, 8:00 – 4:30 and Friday, 8:00 to 12:00 at the Tax Collector’s Office, 1 First St., Seymour, CT.
Please remember that “back taxes” must be paid prior to collecting new taxes.
If looking for DMV clearance to register anything, payment must be made with cash, money order or Visa debit.
