Roads
Bungay Road construction is moving along, and they are ahead of schedule. The crew is cleaning up the areas, before they move to the next section. This down time worked out well as school just started last week. The plan is to start construction next week; the next section is Bungay Terrace to Emma. This is the section that will take longer than the previous sections. This is the area were we had a lot of water main, and pipe breakage. New storm drains will be replaced as well as sidewalk installation and repair. When the construction does start in this area Bungay Road from Bungay Terrace to Emma will be one way going up towards Bungay School. You will not be able to go down Bungay Road once you hit Bungay Terrace. This is will be until the road is finished 24/7, IT WILL NOT BE OPENED FOR TWO WAY TRAFFIC after 4:30 and on the weekend. We know the signs say the roads are closed when they are open. The construction company does not want to change the signs as they are still working. Once all the utilities companies have come in as move their wires onto the new poles the old telephone poles (the ones with x’s on them) will be removed and the sidewalks will be poured. The poles will not be in the middle of the sidewalks.
Clinton Road – The Public Works crew were out last week and paved the area of concerns.
Walnut Street – Construction on Walnut street has started this week. Public Works is out there doing some drainage work and road repair.
Seymour Avenue was on the schedule to be repaired and paved last year, but the Housing authority needed to do lateral work last year, and this year they are doing renovation on the houses down there. Seymour Ave paving is on schedule for next year paving.
Tomlinson Road – The Public Works department is replacing Catch Basins.
