About the Board

The Board of Police Commissioners is a 5-member elected board responsible for:

  • Managing and supervising the Police Department
  • Overseeing property and equipment purchasing and maintenance
  • Establishing directives and personnel regulations (including compensation)
  • Appointing all personnel and approving drug seizure expenditures
  • Exercising jurisdiction over traffic and parking within Seymour
