Registrar of Voters

Connecticut’s Presidential Preference Primaries will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. 

All three polling places will be open from 6:00 am until 8:00 pm

Voters must be affiliated with a major party in order to vote in that party's Primary.

Unaffiliated voters have until noon on April 1st to affiliate with a party in order to vote on April 2nd.

Early Voting

Early Voting for the Presidential Preference Primaries will be held in the Norma Drummer Room (downstairs) in Seymour Town Hall from 10 am to 6pm on:

Tuesday March 26th, Wednesday March 27th, Thursday March 28th, and Saturday March 30th. 

Unaffiliated voters must affiliate with a party by noon on Monday March 25th tin order to vote early in the Presidential Preference Primary.

The Registrar of Voters is responsible for the following:

  • conducting the annual canvass of registered voters between January and May to ensure records are accurate and complete
  • managing elections, primaries and referenda
  • locating and training poll workers
  • handling requests for voter registration and education
  • processing mail-in and in person voter registrations

The Registrars of Voters are elected in the Town of Seymour.

  • Persons eligible to vote at Town Meetings shall be the electors of the Town and/or owners of at least $1,000.00 in taxable property
